FAQ

Q: What separates Offshore Cleaning Systems pressure washers from the competition?
A: Quality, reliability, and safety. Offshore Cleaning Systems designs every piece of cleaning equipment with the safety of its user in mind.

Q: What's more important, pressure (PSI) or water volume (GPM)?
A: Both  PSI and GPM are very important  for the optimum performance from a pressure washer.  The pressure lifts the dirt and the water volume  carries it away.

Q: How much high pressure hose can I use?
A: The recommended length is 100' however, you can run more.  If you choose to use over 100' you may notice problems with your chemical injector.  If this occurs just move it closer to your gun.  For every 1' of hose you run you will lose 1 PSI.

Q:
What do the different color nozzles mean?

A: Red-0 deg Spray Tip-  This tip is not recommended for wood applications.  Its stream of water is too narrow and concentrated.  This would be ideal for concrete, and metal.
Yellow-15 deg Spray Tip-  This tip is a heavy duty cleaning or stripping tip. you can use this tip for cleaning concrete, loose paint, and driveways.
Green-25 deg Spray Tip- This tip is for general washing purposes.   You will find yourself using this tip for your deck, siding, and your car.
White-40 deg Spray Tip- This tip has the least amount of impact.  The white tip is great for rinsing, cleaning out your gutters, and other sensitive jobs.
Black-65 deg Soap Nozzle-  This tip  is used for low pressure soap applications.

Q: What does by-pass mean?
A: This allows the pump to circulate water in a closed loop so that there is no pressure build up.  The longer a unit is in by-pass mode the greater internal friction increases water temperature thus damaging internal components.  If you leave your machine in the by-pass mode for longer than two minutes you risk overheating your pump.   We use a thermal relief valve to stop this from happening.

Q: What is a thermal relief valve?
A: This is a safety feature for your pump.  It will keep the pump from burning up if left in the by-pass mode for too long.  This valve is set to the recommended safe operating pump temperature rating for optimal pump life.   If the valve pops you will need to replace it.
